Here are the Top 10 Ingenious Ways to Reward Yourself While Losing Weight
Let’s face it! Losing body fat is hard work. And if you are anything like me, you like to reward yourself for hard work? Read on to learn the Top 10 ingenious ways to reward your efforts.
The following ideas are to keep you motivated and on the straight and narrow before reaching your end goal. They are to serve as special treats for all your hard work and effort. I know as you read these ideas you may be saying to yourself “but I do that” or “that’s not a treat” but I ask you to be honest and think about when was the last time that you did one of these activities uninterrupted. The time you spend doing one of these activities is all about having the luxury of not having to worry about anything else ie who is watching the kids or what are we having for dinner. The idea is to free your mind and truly focus on and enjoy the activity, after all it is a reward for all your hard efforts.
Have a Sleep In

And I mean a real sleep in. Tell the kids, your partner, whoever, that this day is the day that the phone will be off the hook and that you are not coming out of the bedroom until 10 o’clock, or whatever time suits.
Splurge on a Non Food Gift for Yourself

An item you really want such as piece of jewellery or a bouquet of flowers. Just make sure it is something personal that you would normally not buy for yourself but would really love. I love flowers – Asiatic Liliums are my favorite due to their wonderful smell. I even bought myself a beautiful vase from the dollar shop so that I would always have one around.
Spend Some Quality Time on Yourself

I know its really hard to find some alone time, especially if you are working and have a family to care for. But creating some time just for yourself is rewarded at least 10 fold in the future. Not only is it good for your mind, but your body will enjoy the "down time" as well. Plus, doing an activity that you really cherish is a great way to reward yourself for your efforts.
Try Out a New Activity

Why not give a new activity such as candle making, knitting or singing lessons a go. There are plenty of “how to videos on youtube and if you find you really enjoy the activity you can then go and find a suitable face to face tutor or community group you can join. If you know you really want to, you can attend the local adult education centre and maybe take a pottery lesson or two.
Buy a New Water Bottle

You know you have always wanted one. You know? One of those fancy spots bottles. Why not reward yourself and splurge on one of those fancy water bottles – I mean a really good one. Some of them have a long tube that goes through the middle that you can take out and put in the freezer so your water stays cold. And some have great covers on them as well. Just splurge and buy the one that is important to you.
Spend One on One Time with Your Significant Other

Get in a babysitter and spend some real alone time with your partner. This is so important as we often don’t spend enough one on one time with the most important people in our life. And it doesn’t matter what you do. Go to the park for a walk and feed the birds or maybe take in a movie or a concert. Just make sure that the person you have left the kids with is someone you can trust so that your mind can be at ease and in the moment with your partner and the activity you are doing.
Personal Body Time

Why not take a Bubble bath, have a facial or even a mani-pedi. Maybe you can go for a massage day at the local spa. Just do anything that is personal to you and your body to celebrate your fat loss. You can even arrange a “girlfriend” date to do all of this with as well. Why not share the joy around?
Feed Your Brain

There are lots of activities at the local museum or art gallery. These are fantastic places to visit. I recently attended a DaVinci Machines exhibition and loved it. I went with my daughter and my three granddaughters and we all had a blast. Some of the exhibits were interactive and it was a whole heap of fun. And it didn’t cost us a cent!!! Check out the local newspaper or your city events calendar on line.
Enjoy Coloring In Again

Buy yourself some new coloring pencils and a coloring book or two and color away to your hearts content. This is such a cathartic exercise. I have a friend who paper clips a $5 note to every page she completes and at the end of the book, she removes all of the $5 notes and buys herself a big reward. What a great way to motivate yourself to spend quality “alone time”.
Be Introspective

And lastly – not because it is the least important but because it is the simplest thing we can do but is often either forgotten or disregarded, lay on the grass, feel your face being warmed by the sun and be one with your thoughts. Now this could mean clearing your mind altogether and meditating, or it could mean praying to your higher authority, either way just be one with yourself and where you are in this moment.
Now of course only having 10 ways you can reward yourself for losing body fat is never enough but I had to pick a number and 10 seemed like a pretty good one. But just because 10 ways are never enough, here is a few honorable mentions.

Buy Some New Clothes

Now I didn’t mention this one above because if you haven’t reached your goal weight yet, then this could be an expensive exercise. But don’t fret because there are plenty of second hand shops or charity shops around where you can pick up some very nice clothes for a fraction of the new price. And the best thing about this is you can return them to the charity shop when you have lost more body fat along the way and then pick up smaller sizes as you go. Plus there is so much more in these shops than clothes. There is handbags, shoes, jewelry and the fun goes on.
Workout Music

If you workout a lot, why not download yourself some new workout music. You know “that” song you have always wanted.
Learn to Play a New Game

Whether it’s a board game or a card game, just be in the moment and enjoy learning a new game. Have a look in your local paper as there is often groups who meet play these games regularly. And there is often chess games in the local park in many of the major cities.
Volunteering

Whether its at one of those charity shops where you pick up your second hand clothes while your losing weight, or at a pet shelter, just spending your time with other people or animals is good for the soul. And there is lots of community garden spaces that would love you to volunteer as well.
Writing Down Your Thoughts

Now this can extend to some form of a diary or that great novel that has been trying to break free of your imagination and onto paper for years. Or it could even be a number one song or a poem to the love of your life. Either way, put those words onto paper and treasure them.
