A study published in 2012 came to the conclusion that the carotenoids (the compound that gives yams their orange color) in yams not only helped stabilize blood sugar levels, but by increasing the consumption of fruit and vegetables with this miracle compound in them, you could improved not only weight loss but more specifically fat loss.

Just remember to either bake or steam your yams, and don’t be tempted to add all of those calorific toppings and ruin their wonderful health benefits.
